Financial Planning for Senior Care
Understanding your financial options is a critical step in choosing the right senior living community for yourself or a loved one. From government programs to private insurance solutions, there are a variety of ways to help finance care. Learn more about which financial options might be available to you.
Medicare
Medicare may cover short-term stays at select Exceptional Living Centers following a qualifying hospital stay. These rehabilitation stays are designed to help individuals recover from surgery, illness, or injury. Speak with your care provider or one of our team members to determine Medicare eligibility and availability at our communities.
Medicaid Assistance
Medicaid is a state and federally funded program that can help cover the cost of long-term care for qualifying individuals. Many Exceptional Living Center communities accept Medicaid, making high-quality senior care more accessible and affordable for those who need financial support. Reach out to us for help understanding your state’s Medicaid benefits and how they apply to long-term care.
Veterans Aid & Attendance Benefit
The Aid & Attendance benefit is a supplemental program offered through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to help eligible veterans and their surviving spouses pay for senior care services. This benefit provides monthly financial assistance, with award amounts based on individual circumstances and adjusted annually by the VA.
After meeting specific service, income, and medical criteria, qualifying individuals may receive significant monthly support to help cover the cost of care. To learn more about eligibility requirements, the most current benefit amounts, and how to apply, contact your local Veterans Regional Office or visit VA.gov.
Long-Term Care Insurance
Long-Term Care Insurance (LTCI) can help cover the costs of senior living, depending on your specific policy. Many of our communities work with LTCI providers to help residents finance care in a way that aligns with their coverage. Be sure to review your policy or connect with a representative to understand your benefits.
