I don’t know what to say. The people here are outstanding. They made therapy more enjoyable. I am able to do more for myself now that I was before I came here. I know when I go home from here, I will be ok because of how much I have progressed. Tony, Jennifer, and Jen were amazing! I did not like therapy at first, I demanded to be seen in my room. I kept my curtains closed and the lights off. Due to the team’s persistence and kindness, I am now taking myself to the therapy gym, my curtains are wide open and I like to look outside my window and let in the light. I am so grateful to Charlestown Place.

Make Therapy Enjoyable
Vicki was admitted to Charlestown Place following a complicated hospital stay for diagnosis of renal failure, acute cystitis, UTI and sepsis, which resulted in significant physical limitations. She required complete assistance for bed mobility and transfers and was unable to ambulate when she first admitted to Charlestown Place. Her quality of life had been severely impacted due to her functional decline. The primary goals of care were focused on improving mobility, strength, and overall independence. Vicki went from being completely dependent on staff for all mobility tasks to achieving modified independence in all functional mobility areas. She will now be discharged to an Assisted Living facility where she can enjoy greater independence and quality of life. Her success was achieved through her hard work and a collaborative, patient centered rehabilitation.
